The precursor project of WINTHER, the INNODERM project, which ran from 2016 to 2021 was chosen to receive the European Commission’s 2021 ECS Innovation Award. On 24 November 2021, at the annual European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems (EFECS) meeting, Coordinator Prof. Vasilis Ntziachristos accepted the award on behalf of the consortium and gave a short presentation on the major achievements of the project. Our consortium is honored to recieve the award and many thanks goes to the consortium partners (iThera Medical GmbH, Sonaxis SA, Rayfos Ltd, Humanitas University, and the Technical University of Munich), the EU Horizo2020 and Photonics 21 programs, and the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDeA). We look forward to continuuing our pioneering work in optoacoutic imaging through our WINTHER (Grant no. 871763).
