Our newest WINTHER publication, titled ‘Fast faster-scan optoacoustic mesoscopy enables assessment of human melanoma microvasculature in vivo‘ is out in Nature Communications! The study was conducted by a team of TUM researchers, and shows that Raster-Scan Optoacoustic Mesoscopy (RSOM) can be used to assess human melanoma with results showing measurable differences between malignant and benign lesions. The work shows that the RSOM could be used in the future for detecting and monitoring changes in skin tissue surrounding melanomas, which could provide more optimized therapies and patient-centric precision medicine.
