WINTHER at TIF 2024

This year, the 88th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) is taking place on September 7th-15th in HELEXPO, the largest exhibition and congress centre in Greece. Under “made in Germany” motto, TIF 2024 honoured country is Germany, providing 6000 squared metres of exhibition space for German institutes and companies.

A team composed of researchers and science managers from the Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI) and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) has travelled from Munich to Thessaloniki to present the latests advances in biomedical optoacoustic imaging. Located in the German Pavillon Hall 13 – Stand B41, they have prepared a booth dedicated to optoacoustic techniques and their broad range of applications.

The interdisciplinarity nature of TIF brings together institutes and companies from the most diverse fields. However, they all have innovation and sustainability as common core values. As WINTHER  approaches its final stages, presenting the project in such an international and dynamic event is key to reach our communication and dissemination goals. The diverse public visiting the fair include students, researchers, entrepreneurs, policy-makers, families and the general citizenship. The WINTHER team at the booth is attending to the questions of all of them and carefully listening to the feedback received.

In the first weekend of the fair, the WINTER coordinator Prof. Vasilis Ntziachristos presented the talk “Engineering, Healthcare and Economic Drivers” on the main stage of the German pavillon. He also participated in a panel of experts to discuss the challenges of bioengineering research and education in Europe. The WINTHER booth will be in the exhibition until 15th September. After that, the team is coming back to Munich to gather the feedback and the learned lessons aquired at the fair. This will help us to run the last months of the WINTHER project. There is still work to be done, and we will keep you updated!
